A symbol wideley used by the Ancient Greeks. It became famous due to Macedonians who used it as a symbol of their kindom. 4 rays symbolize the 4 elements  of nature (water,earth,air and fire), while the other 12, symbolize the Olympian Gods.

ANTHEMION

An ancient Greek symbol. Symbolizes love, creative, self-awareness. The clock-wise and anti-clockwise spirals stand for the unity of opposite forces in nature, which results in creation. Anthem ion was used primarily as an ornament on Pediments.
